Markington CE Primary School has been educating the local community since 1789. The school has a proven track record of success, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for the fourth time in 2013. We continue to strive for excellence with 2016 Year 6 SAT results higher than both National and North Yorkshire data.

Experienced staff have a clear emphasis on every child as an individual, providing exemplary teaching and learning to the children in their care. Children attending the school are successfully prepared for their secondary education and transition to a number of public and private educational establishments.

We are proud of our caring ethos and atmosphere, reflecting the school’s heritage as a Church school. The dedication and skills of the staff; support of parents and governing body; and the strong links with the local church and community; ensures that Markington School offers the very best start to a young person’s life.

We are delighted that from September 2016 we have welcomed 3 year olds into our Early Years provision. Flexible sessions are available in the mornings and afternoons. We are also able to provide extended care through our breakfast and after school club for all children. This will enable parents of nursery age children to access 30 hours of provision on site.

If you would like to visit please call Mrs Maher in the office and I would be delighted to show you round.
